Due to the amount of "Media Hype" recently surrounding so called "gas guzzlers" and "4x4" vehicles we have decided to dedicate a page to explain how much a road fund licence (road tax) will cost you, and to try and simplify and explain the situation.
If you would like to enquire about the rate for a particular vehicle, or would like further details, please do not hessitate to contact us direct.
Below is a list of current charges. HOWEVER, please note that SOME Land Rover Defenders registered after 1st March 2001 are registered in taxation class PLG and not "Diesel Car". Any post 2001 vehicle registered as PLG will NOT be charged on emissions and the road tax will revert to the pre 2001 PLG rate - currently £185 PA.

Please note: These rates apply only to cars that have been type approved within category M1 of Annex II to Council Directive 70/156/EEC and which have been registered on the basis of a type approval certificate that shows its carbon dioxide emissions level in terms of grams per kilometre driven.
