Another military Land Rover Lightweight “Captured” today. This particular Land Rover is well know to Land Rover Centre – having originally been sold by us in 2003. It was then re- acquired and sold to Steve in 2008 Lack of time to enjoy it meant that Steve contacted us recently asking if we would be interested to buy it back. “Of course we are !” The Lightweight will be advertised for sale as soon as we have completed our appraisal.

Repeat Business

It’s always nice to hear from previous customers, and a phone call today from Tim in Somerset, resulted in the sale of our 1973 Tax Exempt Series 3. Tim previously purchased a 1984 Series 3 from us way back in 2001 ! Having sold that one in 2003 to buy a brand new 110 Defender has missed owning a SWB ever since. We will be taking his low mileage (28,000) 2003 110 station wagon in exchange – so that will.

Hugh completes the purchase of our 1971 Land Rover Series IIA

First job this morning was to collect Hugh, Alex and Digby from the railway station. They have traveled up to view and test drive our 1971 Land Rover Series IIA. We are pleased to report that Alex found it to be “better than expected” and that the driving experience was superior to previous Series Land Rovers he had owned – so a deal was agreed. It would be a long drive back to Isle of Wight – but we are.

Hello From Portugal !

Whenever we sell one of our Land Rovers – we always tell customers that we will be here to help “Long after the warranty has expired” That was the case this weekend, when we received an E Mail from Pedro. He lives in Portugal, and bought a Series 3 Land Rover from us 17 years ago. He needed to buy a replacement fuel tank – and we were happy to be able to help. Back in 2000, he traveled over.

A Facebook post today from Jonathan Langley had some historic pictures of Land Rover Centre, Taken in February 1985 when his mother and father came to collect their newly purchased Land Rover Series 3 Parked next to the Series 3 is their Mini van that they left in part exchange. Paul from Devon collects his 1994 Defender that has undergone a rebuild in our workshops

A couple of months ago, Paul from Devon brought his 1994 Defender 90 to us for a galvanized chassis to be fitted. New Arrival – Award winning – “Better than new” – 1960 Land Rover Series II

The restoration of 648 HFU was completed in 2014. Since then, it has been used sparingly – mainly to and from shows, and has covered 2000 miles. “Better than new” is not a term we use often – but in this case it is absolutely the only way to describe this Land Rover. Restored to concours standard, with exceptional attention to detail. Having spent all of it’s life in Lincolnshire – it is now looking for a new custodian.

1954 Land Rover Series I – Delivered to David in Cheshire

Another Land Rover that has been sold before it was listed onto our web, is this delightful 1954 Series I Land Rover. Purchased by Land Rover Centre way back in 2002, this was the Land Rover that featured in the original series of  the popular TV program “Heartbeat”. It has since been to America, and underwent a 7 year restoration, then returned to the UK and now has found a new home with Dave in Cheshire.

Finished in Deep Bronze Green, with Sand Soft Top, galvanized chassis, overdrive and free wheel hubs – it was exactly what he was looking for. We will be carrying out final preparation, before it is delivered to Southampton docks, on the first leg of its journey.

A new arrival today is this very original 1981 Land Rover Series 3 truck cab. Having covered a mere 57,000 miles from new, it comes with a lot of history, including old MOT certificates going back to 1994 to support the mileage, plus the original sales invoice from new. Chris visits from Australia to approve his purchase of 1970 Series 2A

Last month Chris (who is currently working out on contract in Australia) agreed to purchase UDF 893H our stunning 1970 Land Rover Series IIA soft top. The sale was agreed “subject to viewing” and today Chris and his wife Rose traveled from their home in Devon to come to view & test drive the Land Rover. The Land Rover exceeded their expectations and the deal was confirmed with a hand shake. We will be storing the Land Rover for them.
