We often have interesting jobs in the workshop – Below are some photographs of a Series IIA “Chassis Swap” we are carrying out for John. He is a local customer, and has been coming to us for years for parts and service, but recently decided it was time to replace the tired chassis and gearbox on his Land Rover.
A new Galvanised chassis and reconditioned gearbox are the order of the day !
Tuesday 14th
In the workshop this week, we have another series Land Rover – This time a Series III having new bulkhead footwells being fitted:

We are always interested to hear where our Land Rovers are – whether it be from current owners, or from people who have “spotted” them on the road. Today we received an e mail and photo from Frederico in Bridgehampton New York, saying he had spotted one of our Land Rovers. It is actually XKV 418X – the series III Soft top County we shipped to Michael in New York back in January.

Tuesday 21st
We have been working for the past few months on AFW 632B a 1964 Series IIA Land Rover for Chase Distillery. It was originally Deep Bronze Green, but as their company colours are Black and Silver, we have been changing the base colour of the Land Rover, from the Green to the Black.
It will be used for promotions, and will have an antique Still located in the back.
The Land Rover will take pride of place at the “Chase Bar” located at the half way point at Henley Regatta – Wednesday 29th June to Sunday 3rd July.
Wednesday 22nd
A trip to Liverpool docks. As anyone who follows our news letter will know, we usually deliver our vehicles by trailer. That was not possible today, as this Prototype (1972) Land Rover 101 F/C Forward Control and Cargo Trailer are simply too big !
It has taken quite some time to sort out and Export Certificate for this combination, but we are pleased for it now to be on its way to Baltimore, into the safe hands of Tyler – a very enthusiastic Land Rover collector.
Thursday 23rd
The Camel Trophy 110 Defender that arrived last week has been reserved by Steve in North Wales. Steve has been looking for “something different” for quite a while, and the Camel Trophy Land Rover will put to good use.
Sunday 26th
Another early morning for one of our buyers – this time a trip to Worcestershire to purchase a 1977 Series III Hard Top. This Land Rover will be serviced and MOT’d and fully checked over in our workshops before being offered for sale shortly.

We like to keep a scale model Land Rover in the showroom, both for decoration, and for the young Land Rover enthusiasts to try out while their parents are looking at the larger versions. They are usually for sale. The one shown below has been purchased, and will soon be delivered to Edinburgh.
