Tuesday 1st
In the beginning, God created the Earth, the night and the day . . .
. . . THEN with the help of the Wilks Brothers came THE LAND ROVER 80″.
This 1952 is a very fine example and has been subject to a running restoration by the previous owner since his purchase in 1985. Part of which was a fully reconditioned engine, axles, stainless exhaust, and seats etc. It would not take a lot of effort to put into concours condition – and we have never driven a nicer 80″ in all our years in the business.

I often tell potential buyers that the most difficult part of our job is finding suitable Land Rovers to buy. We spend thousands of pounds a year, driving tens of thousands of miles to view Land Rovers all around the country. We try to “eliminate” unsuitable Land Rovers prior to travelling – but this is not always possible. Today was one of those days – unfortunately a 200 mile round trip to Cumbria to view a Series III 109″ turned out to be unsuccessful, as it did not meet our exacting standards.
Monday 7th
It’s funny how things work out. After travelling to Cumbria yesterday to look at a 109″ Land Rover – Today we have acquired one locally. This 1977 example was the subject of a ground up restoration approx 4 years ago, including a new chassis, and as you would expect after only covering 17,000 miles since – is in exceptional condition.

Whilst the majority of our overseas buyers will purchase their Land Rover “over the phone”, it is nice when they find time to come and visit our premises. We can then personally show them around our stock of Land Rovers, our workshop, and our trim shop. This was the case today when Saeed and his friends visited us from Dubai. After spending a couple of hours looking at our facilities, and the work we do, he settled on the purchase of “Lucille” – our very original low mileage 1978 88″ Station Wagon. This will be prepared over the next few weeks, prior to delivery to the shippers.
Thursday 10th
A short trip to Cheshire this morning saw the successful purchase of a totally original TAX EXEMPT Series III Land Rover in totally pristine condition having covered only 42,000 miles from new, y 3 owners – all living in the county of Cheshire. Very very hard to find in this condition.
Because we buy and sell Land Rovers all around the UK, it stands to reason that from time to time a Land Rover will be sold to someone in the same county as we bought it from. FNH 989X had spent it’s whole life in Northamptonshire until purchased by us. So it was nice when we received a phone call from Timothy living in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire last month to agree the purchase of this very original 1982 Series III Land Rover – But imagine everyone’s surprise when it turned out he knew the owner who originally bought it new, and owned it for the first 25 years of it’s life !
Friday 11th
Although we deliver a lot of our Land Rovers, buyers are more than welcome to come and collect them from us. This gives us the oportunity to give customers a tour around our facilities and to see the work that we do. David and Clare from Cardigan purchased – a very original Series III Soft top 88″ from us last month. Clare’s Father Alan was trusted with the task of collecting the Land Rover, and driving it the 200 miles home !
PGN 445V is seen below awaiting collection.
FCK 881Y – The exceptional Series III 109″ Truck cab that arrived on Monday has a “Sale agreed” with Simon, who purchased a stunning Series III 88″ Statin Wagon from us last August. We will be completing final preparation on the 109″ during the next couple of weeks before it is delivered to Oxfordshire.
Sunday 13th
A leisurely Sunday morning drive to Malton, North Yorkshire, to collect this lovely 1951 Series I 80″ Land Rover.
Tuesday 15th
EAT 296Y – the lovely 1983 Series Land Rover we delivered to Liverpool docks last month, has arrived safely in New York, has been collected by Andrew the new owner, and is now registered and being used at his country home:
Friday 18th
Our good friend Jan from EXMOD Trade & Transport vehicle Logistics arrives to collect WUR 120E – the 1967 Series IIA – sold to Roland in Germany last month. Apart from our usual preparation, Roland has added Michelin XCL 7.50 x 16 tyres and a Rocky Mountain “Roverdrive”.
Monday 21st
Nick and his family travelled up from West Sussex, to see progress on FPM 55C the 1965 Series IIA he reserved back in December. For those of you who follow our “Latest news” page on a regular basis, you will remember that he loved the Land Rover when he first saw it on our web site – but wanted one in Marine Blue. The Land Rover is therefore currently having a “Colour change”, and will be delivereed to Chichester when the work is completed.

Wednesday 23rd
After several phone conversations, and discussions on specification, CSU 99E – the 1967 Series IIA – (which arrived in November) has been reserved by Roger on behalf of his boss. “CSU” by coincidence will also be moving to a new home in West Sussex once we have carried out the preparation work which will include side windows and individual rear seats.
Thursday 24th
We are often asked where we find our Land Rovers, and the answer is always the same – We do cover tens of thousands of miles each year, seeking out “THE VERY BEST” Series Land Rovers available However, with us being here for over 40 years now – Most of them find us !
A phone call last week resulted in the purchase over the phone of HSL 789 – a 1959 Series II Diesel that has been the subject to a previous restoration onto a galvanised chassis. “Brambles” (as the Land Rover is affectionately named) has spent the last 12 months on the Isle of Man.
