Wednesday 8th February
After exchanging e mails with one of our good friends Gary over the last few days, (He bought a beautiful 1972 Range Rover 2 door classic from us in 2009) – a deal has been agreed to sell 193 ELM – our low mileage and extremely original 1963 109″ Station wagon – to HIS good friend in Hamburg. “193” will be collected from us and driven to Hamburg in a few weeks time.
Friday 10th February
We often welcome overseas visitors, and are always happy to contribute to the UK’s export drive. To that end, we have been looking forwards to receiving a visit from Mr Shinobu from Yokohama, Japan and hoped that he might find one of our Land Rovers suitable for his customers.
We were very pleased when he chose two of our Land Rovers to take back to Japan for his discerning clients:
NVF 471F – an exceptional 1967 Series IIA – One family and 40,000 miles from new
ABW 239G – a 1969 Series IIA – Rebuilt from the ground up with a Galvanised chassis
Wednesday 15th February
The two Land Rovers going to japan, are to be converted to “safari” roof. To facilitate this, we will be swapping the existing soft tops with Land Rovers that are currently hard tops, and vice versa.
The first change has been made, and “CVL” now wears a soft top and “NVF” has a safri roof:

Sunday 19th February
A project we have been working on for a while is NPG 671D – a 1966 Series IIA. Originally bought by Land Rover Centre back in July 2011 as a standard Green Short Wheel Base Truck Cab. It was purchased by Romain in London in October 2011, but he wanted a Land Rover that looked as if it was “Bare Aluminium”.
Whilst it is not practical to strip the paint completely to get that look (obviously the bulkhead and other parts are steel) – we came up with the solution of painting it in”Aluminium Paint”. It was also converted to a soft top at the same time.
We hope you like the results, and if you see it driving around the streets of London – don’t forget to give it a wave !
BEFORE: (Purchased in West Sussex)
AFTER: (Delivered safely to London)
Tuesday 21st February
HSL 789 – Our 1959 Series II Diesel Soft top has been purchased by Martyn in Devon, and will be delivered in the next week or two, once it has had it’s final preparation, MOT etc.
Thursday 23rd February
WWU 283 – the 1958 Series II Hard Top, purchased by Alex over the phone at the beginning of the month, is delivered safely to East Sussex. All our Land Rovers are delivered by a member of staff, so that a proper hand over and demonstration can be carried out.
The return journey was made via Buckinghamshire to collect this very nice 2002 Discovery II TD5 automatic. A big thanks to Adam for an accurate description. The Discovery will be listed on our “Other Land Rover for sale” page next week.
Friday 24th February
Gordon from Suffolk, travelled up to Huddersfield today with his friend “Seb” to collect CWB 699H. The 1969 Series IIA, rebuilt on a galvanised chassis was purchased earlier in the month. Since then, as well as the usual serice and MOT preparation, we have also added so extra work lamps, door panels and free wheeling hubs. Gordon also brought a Rocky Mountain overdrive with him, which was fitted in our workshop while he waited.
Monday 27th February
Although many of our classic Land Rovers are sold “over the phone”, it is always nice when potential customers come and visit. We enjoy showing people around our facility, so they can see what we get up to. That was the case today, when Martin visited from York. He was looking for a nicely restored Series IIA and settled on DHJ 274B – a very crisp 1964.
