Description

DUB 760K – 1971 Land Rover Series IIA – 35,100 miles – Great Survivor – One of the last !!

HISTORY

This Land Rover originally came into our hands back in 2009. At this point, it had been in the same ownership since new and covered a mere 33,312 miles from new.

The Land Rover at this point was 100% original, and as it left the factory (we have archive pictures available to interested buyers), but the paintwork was dull. Our recommissioning work, included a full respray, as well as:

  • 5 x new wheels and tyres
  • full brake overhaul including shoes and cylinders
  • New brake flexi hoses
  • New Battery
  • Full service – all oils, water antifreeze etc
  • new water pump
  • new radiator hoses
  • new radiator
  • new seat belts and seat belt safety bar
  • 2 new swivels
  • 4 new road springs
  • 4 new shock absorbers
  • new exhaust
  • free wheel hubs
  • New soft top
  • New door tops

It was subsequently sold to the second private owner, who has had the vehicle since. Working abroad, means that the Land Rover has had little use in recent years, and has now amassed 35,100 miles

We are pleased that the Land Rover has returned to us, and it is now looking for a new custodian.

It is hard to believe, but the chassis and bulkhead are 100% solid – having never been welded

Except for replacement door tops, the panels are all 100% original and dent free.

The 2 1/4 Diesel engine starts up at the first turn of the key and runs as nicely as the day it left the factory.

Lots of original features

  • original indicators
  • original square smiths heater
  • original factory fitted hand throttle
  • Original “Maltese cross” metal grill
  • Original “Diesel” badge

Rear seats have never been fitted – but can be if new owner requires.

Not the cheapest you will find – but I believe that it is one of the most original, and certainly hard to find in anything like this unspoiled condition.
