Norman was born on 28th June 1956 – so at the time of this listing is fast approaching his 66th birthday and is actively looking for a retirement home.
There is a large history file, including a workshop manual and a heritage certificate.
The heritage certificate indicates that Norman was dispatched to Morsmith Motors Limited (Swansea) on 29th June ’56.
The certificate also indicates the colour as “Red and Red” – which gives credibility to the rumour that Norman was originally intended to be a fire tender, but was a cancelled order – As does the presence of an oil cooler.
DVLA information indicates that the colour was changed from “Red” to (Bronze) Green in 1982.
We understand that Norman spent the majority of his life in and around Swansea. He comes to us from a collector in Northern Ireland, who has been looking after him for the last few years.
We believe the registration number NWN 901 is the original one issued in Swansea in 1956.
A restoration in 2012 included the galvanizing of the original chassis. Other works carried include the fitting of an electronic ignition system and a re cored radiator.
