Galvanised & Powder Coated Chassis

As featured in LRO – March 2012

Unfortunately, the classic 2 door Range Rover was never factory built with a Diesel engine. What we have here, is perhaps what SHOULD have been built, but never was. A stunning 2 door Range Rover with the bullet proof 200 TDi Diesel engine, and 5 speed gearbox.

This Range Rover has been the subject of an extensive “ground up” restoration, and has had thousands of pounds spent making sure that everything works correctly.

Below is a brief list of the work carried out, but anyone who has completed a similar restoration will appreciate it is impossible to list every last job:

  • Original chassis – Galvanised and powder coated
  • 200 TDi Diesel engine – 50,000 miles from new
  • New timing belt fitted
  • LT77 5 speed gearbox – Fully reconditioned
  • New clutch
  • New exhaust
  • New top and bottom tailgate
  • Original bonnet mounted mirrors
  • New bumpers
  • New front wings
  • Axles blasted painted and rebuilt with new bearings and seals
  • New brake pipes throughout
  • New flexible brake lines
  • New brake discs and pads
  • New tyres
  • New battery
  • New swivel housings and seals
  • New headlining
  • Full respray in Tuscan Blue (cost thousands)

As good as this Range Rover looks, the ultimate experience is gained in the driving seat.

Over the years, I have seen and driven many Land Rovers and Range Rovers that have had “An engine conversion”, and to be honest, none of them ever seem to be 100% “right”

This particular Range Rover benefits from a professional rebuild which “included” an engine and gearbox transplant. Because of this – you would think that the vehicle was built this way – no nasty wiring, and it drives perfectly.

Previous owner reports fuel economy of 40mpg !

If you are looking for a “Useable” Classic Range Rover – then this may fit the bill.

Good enough to show – reliable enough to use – You choose !

To be sold fully serviced with 12 months MOT & 3 months warranty.
