. . . From the outside it simply looks like one of the very best 2 door Range Rover Classics that you are likely to see.
HOWEVER – Underneath you will find the much more modern 200TDi Diesel engine, coupled to the more modern 5 speed gearbox and more usable brushed nylon interior.
Classic jaguar cars have been subjected to this type of re-manufacture for many years now, but this is the first time we have seen a Classic Range Rover built to this standard.
This Range Rover was rebuilt from the ground up to the highest standard, by a good friend of the Land Rover centre, who has spent a lifetime in the trade, but on retirement decided to build the “Ultimate Classic Range Rover”

Please do not confuse this with any other “engine conversion” in a Range Rover, this vehicle has been rebuilt from the ground up around the more modern drive train.
It is impossible to give an exhaustive list, but the restoration work included:
- 200 TDi Diesel Engine
- New timing belt
- LT77 – 5 speed gearbox
- New clutch
- New exhaust
- New top and bottom tailgate
- Original bonnet mounted mirror
- New bumpers
- New front wings
- Bare metal respray inside and out
- Power steering
The result is the ultimate classic Range Rover – From the outside looks totally stock, but once you get behind the wheel, you realise that that it is a very drivable, usable vehicle that also has the benefit of 40 mpg !
